1. Gatlinburg

It doesn’t matter what time of year you visit Gatlinburg, there’s always plenty to do. Visitors can enjoy activities like hiking, biking, and horseback riding during the summer and fall months. During the winter, we recommend trying skiing or snow tube at the Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort.  There is no shortage of things to do in Gatlinburg but one of its selling points is how close it is to the Great Smoky Mountains. This national park between North Carolina and Tennessee is world-renowned for its diverse animal and plant life.  If you consider yourself a hiker, you’ll feel right at home in the mountains in Tennessee. You’ll have your work cut out for you, but the views from the top will be more than worth it.

2. Nashville

No visit to the Volunteer State would be complete without a stop in Nashville, Tennessee. This wonderful city is rife with musical history and is the center of America’s country music scene.  If you’re a country music lover, you need to plan on spending a day on Music Row. This area of the city serves as America’s country music headquarters. Here you’ll find attractions like the Grand Ole Opry and the Country Music Hall of Fame. Nashville is to country music what Memphis is to gospel and blues. So if you know every word to Elvis Prestley’s biggest hits, you need to plan to stop in Memphis.  Graceland is the former home of the King of Rock and Roll himself.
